a. What is learner centered instruction (LCI)?
Learner-centered instruction focuses on the learner and the learning process. The instructor creates a learning environment in which students learned a new language. Students participate in the learning process by establishing learning goals, developing and choosing learning strategies, and evaluating their own progress. In the classroom, students attend to models provided by the instructor and then build on those models as they use the language in the classroom activities.
b. What is the role of the teacher in learner centered instruction.
Our role as teachers is to do many learning tasks for students. Teachers decide what students should learn, how they learn it, Also teachers give students the opportunity to choice about which assignments they complete. Teachers make classroom policies something students can discuss. Teachers ask students to help create assessment criteria. Teachers make an interactive class where the students and teachers learn from each other.
c. Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.
First, learning is personalized together educators, parents, and students modify learning experiences what, how, when, and where they learn something. Students development needs, skills, and interests. Second learning is competency based students move ahead based on their ability to demonstrate that they have reached their goals, Third learning takes place anytime, anywhere students have equitable opportunities to learn outside of the typical school day, take advantage of the variety of digital technologies, they can demonstrate their skills and knowledge. Fourth students exert ownership over their learning students understand how to get “smarter” by applying effort strategically to learning tasks in various content areas. They have frequent opportunities to improve their own learning progression.
