Learner Centered Approach

What is learner centered instruction (LCI)?

It is a new way to teach our students based in their need, interests and creating spaces where they can debate and discuss in class about different topics in that way they can get to the main point of the learning process.

What is the main role of the teacher in LCI?

The teacher has a different role in this process because he or she integrates different learning styles and motivate students through activities that are new and interesting.

Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.

·         Learning is personalized.- the teacher  has to build a solid relationship with the students and the students develop their skills.

·         Learning happens anytime and anywhere.- the main actor of the learning process in this stage is the student who discovers the world around himself or herself inside and outside the classrooms.

·         Learning is competency – based.-  most of the time as teacher we focus in following a curriculum but we need to pay attention to our students needs and challenges that they face every day.

·         Students take ownership.- the student is the main participant he or she is make they own decisions about their learning process that will be meaningful and lasting for their memories.
