I think the video ‘’Transformation’’ represents that a real education is. That is, the learning is personalized, the teacher knows each student and respond individual needs, interests, and challenges. Also, the students make important discoveries about themselves and the world. They do the things by themselves. Teachers don’t make decision about students.
a. What is learner centered instruction (LCI)?
In my personal opinion, learned centered instruction is focused on the learner and the learning process. The students become part of the learning process by establishing learning goals. Also, learner centered instruction helps the students to develop learner autonomy and independence taking responsibility for their own learning.
b. What is the main role of the teacher in LCI?
I think the main role of the teacher is to motivate the students to learn a new language through fun activities using different didactic materials and strategies.
c. Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.
1) Learning is personalized. Teacher knows the student.
2) Learning is competency-based. Teacher responds individual needs, interests, and challenges.
3) Learning happens anytime, anywhere. Students make important discoveries about themselves and the world.
4) Students take ownership. Students play a direct role. They do the things by themselves. Teachers don’t make decision about students.
