LEARNER-CENTERED INSTRUCTION

1.     What is learner centered instruction (LCI)?

In the EFL curriculum students are actively involved in the classroom.  Students become part of the learning process, who creates learning objectives, strategies and evaluating their the progress.

Learner-centered instruction motivates students to be responsible for their own learning, to be confidence and create the ability to use the new language.

2.     What is the main role of the teacher in LCI?

The main role of the teacher in LCI is to be a facilitator of the learning process. Teacher should create a good environment in the process that is similar to the first language. Also, he or she should motivate students with different teaching techniques and activities that help students to improve their goals.

3.     Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.

Learning is Personalize: The teacher should have a good relationship with the student because it helps the students in the learning teaching process.

Learning is competency-based:   The students develop their abilities and skills for the future.

Learning happens anytime, anywhere: The students learn outside and in the classroom.   In fact, they can learn all the time.

Students take ownership: Students are responsible of their learning process and success.
