a. What is learner centered instruction (LCI)?

Learner centered instruction is the way how students improve their skills in order to realize what they learn and how to work in group with the purpose of solve daily problems in the society. Many years ago students were not the center of education, in other words they were not allowed to develop their educational skills. Nowadays, education and society have changed helping students change their role as well. Furthermore, students are the objective of education. They are the tool to improve societies.

b. What is the main role of the teacher in LCI?

Teacher’s main role in LCI is helping students to develop their skill but not as instructor, as a facilitator. Help students aware of their environment.

c. Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.

1. Learning is personalized: Every student is a different world, and teachers have to know them. Teachers have to realize, students’ environment in order to adapt the best way to collaborate in students’ education.

2. Learning is competency-based: Human beings have many skills that allow acquiring the knowledge in different ways. Teachers have to know their students in order to know how to give feedback and facilitate the knowledge. In this way, students give their best and help others to solve problems inside a society.

3. Learning happens anytime, anywhere: When students are awarded of their environment, they know what to do, and how to behave in a situation. They know how to solve problems.

4. Students take ownership: As teachers are facilitators, they have to take decision with students, in this way, students and teachers achieve the best way to improve students’ skills and education in order to have a better society.
